Chair Pilates
Chair Pilates is also known as Seated Pilates - While both are mindful chair based practices, they have distinct goals. Yoga is often more "holistic," incorporating breathwork and flexibility with a focus on holding poses to find a stretch or a state of mind. Pilates is more "anatomical," focusing on repetitive, controlled movements to build core strength and spinal alignment. At MissionFIIT, we often suggest doing both; Yoga to open the body up and Pilates to provide the strength to support that new-found flexibility.
